Name :Gurpreet Singh
Designation :B. Design from L.P.U
Gurpreet Singh 25 yrs is a Graduate in Interior Design from Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, and is presently doing a job with a firm in Hoshiarpur. Today he has grown into a confident young man. But this was not the case when he came to GES some years back, in 2012, He was in the 3rd year of his course for which he had already taken a bank loan of 1.5 lacs which at that time stood a little over 2 lacs. Gurpreet’s father runs a small tailoring shop and his mother is a housewife. He has a younger brother and a younger sister who is mentally challenged. He was in great stress and depression as his father was not able to repay the loan and it kept on mounting.
It was very difficult for them to make both ends meet. He came to GES with lots of hope. In a few years he passed his course with flying colours, and he has been working from past 2 yrs.
In February 2017 he was hired by Lovely Professional University as a faculty. Though he faced a lot of hardships but with little support from GES he has emerged as a confident young man. He contributes a part of his salary regularly to GES to help students like him.
President Message
At a seminar commemorating 300 years of the guruship to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in 2008 a girl said “ I ponder as to the massive kirtandarbars being held , stalls providing a variety of dishes , spending heavy amounts on nagarkirtan across the country etc .To me this is essential, but is this true homage to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji? On searching for the answer in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji itself the reply was no, anything done for selfish motives is not true homage .
