Name :Harjinder Kaur
Designation :Nurse at Shri Mahant Indresh Medical College
Has completed her B.Sc (Nursing) from Akal College of Nursing, Eternal University, Baru Sahib. Her father a street hawker, has a family of five to look after and thus Harjinder struggled throughout her schooling for her school fees of Rs. 100 / month. She passed her 12th class with a good score but her poor financial conditions did not allow her to pursue her life long dream of studying nursing. After a gap of two years in her studies she came to GES for help. Here she got an opportunity to fulfill her dream as we helped her to take admission in B.Sc Nursing.
Though a student of Hindi medium it was Harjinder’s sheer dedication and hardwork that helped her get scholarship in her 3rd and 4th year. Upon completion of her course, she was offered at jobs at many Hospitals, and finally she joined MahantIndresh Hospital, Dehradun as she was keen on coming back to Dehradun so that she can be close to her family and support them. Just like other students of GES family she has now taken up the responsibilities of her own family and also become a contributor and started giving her Daswandh for other needy children.

At a seminar commemorating 300 years of the guruship to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in 2008 a girl said “ I ponder as to the massive kirtandarbars being held , stalls providing a variety of dishes , spending heavy amounts on nagarkirtan across the country etc .To me this is essential, but is this true homage to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji? On searching for the answer in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji itself the reply was no, anything done for selfish motives is not true homage .
