How Gursikh Education Society Came into Existence

At a seminar commemorating 300 years of the guru ship to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in 2008, a girl said “I ponder as to the elaborate celebrations being held world wide throughout the year. To me this is essential, but is this the true homage to our Guru ?” On searching for the answer in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji itself, the reply was ‘NO’. Anything done for earning own name and for own satisfaction cannot be true homage. In modern times, our best gift to our Guru will be to create educated and responsible citizens of the society through excellence in education and ethical standards of living.

First of all I would like to thank Waheguru Ji for his emmense grace that played a major role in my success ladder and next comes Gursikh Education Society who have taken all our financial burden and always supported me as a strong pillar. I can’t even imagine my success without the support of GES which I've got and it is not only financial help but the career advice and keeping a continues track on students in terms of changing their thoughts and habits making them passionate to get ready for the competitive world.

And I think that every student under the guidance of GES stands a chance to do something different which they cannot think of otherwise.

About my personal journey, trust me the things have never been easy and even I had never thought that one day I’ll be able to overcome the financial difficulties , get the right guidance to reach where I am today. In my current company soon I will be the youngest manager.

What many people may not know is that I started working when I was in 6th standard as our family conditions were not good. I remember all the hard days with number of obstacles but when I see back I am thankful to Waheguru ji for being with me and guiding me at every step of my life. It's been 4 years in professional work and working with the world's top hospitality brand and India's best place to work.

The journey was fruitful with lot of mistakes, lot of learnings, lot of hard work, day & night, sometime no rest and of course with lot of achievements. I remember the day when I used to run behind foreigners to listen to their Language (English) and today is a day I am meeting number of people from other countries and strike deals with them as part of my profession. It is just a start of a long journey. We can take rest in winters by doing hard work in summers. To make this journey easy always remember the three pillars. Kirat karo, Naam japo & Vand Chhako.

The underlying aim of the society was to create Gursikh Professionals who will follow the three Principles of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Vision

This idea can turn into a revolution only when the students whose life changed through the society become a permanent part of the society and be a benefactor to other needy children. Then the efforts of the society will grow exponentially and at the same time create model citizens for the country.

Here at Gursikh Education Society a lot of emphasis is laid on the counselling of higher education of students so that when they step into their professional lives, they have the qualities of Humility, Honesty and Compassion. So that they follow the principles of Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Vand Chhako through out their lives and become assets for humanity.

We are now progressing towards the realisation of this aim as many of our students who were helped by Gursikh Education Society to pursue their higher education have now become donors and are contributing their donation towards the education of other needy students.

Waheguruji has blessed Gursikh Education Society with the arduous task to prepare capable and responsible gursikh personalities / citizens.

Gursikh Education Society is one which not only renders financial help for academic education to the needy but also enhance their personality spiritually as well. This society is striving to prepare such individual who follow the 3 principles of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji – NAAM JAPO, KIRAT KARO AND VAND CHAKO. Any person who abides with the above principles would devote time regularly meditating on the almighty .He would strive hard to earn an honest , pure and dedicated living by using skill sets, talent and hard labor. Person who truly follows spiritual teachings would love all irrespective of caste, creed or position. He would have a soft corner for the needy making him compassionate about the needs of others and would go to any extent to help anyone. These characteristics would not only benefit themselves but strive for the welfare of humanity as a whole and he would be at ease in this world and his soul shall be blissful as it travels to the next level.

It is an earnest request to the whole the panth to make efforts for the fulfillment of mission – 2040 so that we can abolish all kind of discrimination and work towards the chardikala of the whole panth and humanity at large.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Gursikh Education Society is playing an important role in imparting school as well as higher education to the underprivileged. How Your Donation Powers our Students

Your donation goes a long way into empowering a needy student to pursue a career of his choice and eventually move towards a successful life where he is able to uplift not only himself but also his family and his future generation. There are ample of such happenings in our society.

Two brothers belonging to a family where the father's monthly income was just Rs 7000/- could never think of getting into a good professional course like B.Tech. But with the support of GES and a few donors who sponsored their education, they were able to complete their mechanical engeneering and then embark towards a career of their choice - the elder brother into Robotics and the younger one in Merchant Navy.

The most remarkable feat being that these students have now become professionals and are sharing there dasvand (Donation) towards the education of other underprivileged childrens.
