An important part of our mission is to create citizen who will not only be outstanding in academics but will also have high Moral Values. (i.e they will have love for humanity, compassion for weak and sense of selfless service for the community).

In one of the conference organised by Institute of Sikh Studies in Chandigarh, where many societies from all over India participated, after listening to S.Devender Singh ji all of them unanimously resolved to work for this mission, ”Mission 2040”.

In a Conference organised by Bibek Trust, Sikh Helping Sikh and Save Our Sikh in Amritsar, Mission 2040 was discussed by the delegates.

During Kendriya Singh Sabha, meeting in Fatehgarh Sahib, Bindra ji discussed the importance of education among sikhs and "Mission 2040".

Gursikh Education Society organised one meeting with the help of International Sikh confideration in Chandigarh where societies from Ambala, Ludhiana and Chandigarh participated, GES  president Bindra ji spread the message fo "Mission 2040".

During Bindra ji's visit to Bidar (Karnataka) he discussed the message of Mission 2040 with S. Balbeer Singh, Chairman Guru Nanak Engineering Colllege and President of Nanak Cheera Gurudwara.

During a conference organised by Chief Khalsa Deewan in Amritsar Mission 2040 was put forward to delegates from India and abroad .

Mission 2040 is only possible if every individual, city, society & gurdwara become part of this mission.

S.Devender Singh Bindra President

A postgraduate in Economics and a retired Banker by profession, he has been the main guiding force behind Gursikh Education Society. S.Devender Singh took an early retirement in 1994. Being inclined to community service from a very young age, he spent a lot of time giving lectures on Gurmat, Sikhism and Moral values specially to children, and also doing other community services. His sheer determination, undaunted faith in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and with the support of a few like minded people led to the conception of GES in Feb 2010. Since then he has spearheaded the progress of the society helping it evolve from an idea to a revolution such ,that many others have taken inspiration from it. He is avery well known & respected social worker in the community and acts as an advisor to many such organisations pan India. He is also member of MP Chhattisgarh Kendri Singh Sabha and is closely associated with organisationssuch as International Sikh Confederation: Satnam Sarab Kalyan Trust, etc. For all the members of Gursikh Education Society he is a mentor and a life changer.

Mrs Paramjeet Kaur Bedi Vice President

Mrs Paramjeet Kaur Bedi ( MA, B.Ed, LLB), an educationist by profession with over 35 years of teaching experinence she retired as a principal from Sri Guru Nanak Public Girls Inter College, Race course, Dehradun. During her academic career she brought many laurels to the school and was awarded as the best Principal Uttarakhand in the year 2010. Post retirement she joined as an advisor at Sri guru Nanak Public school, Chukhuwala, Dehradun and is also secretary at Gurdwara Mohini Road. As a founder member of Gursikh Education Society she has been an active advisor and a guide specially with issues related to administration and children’s academics and a great contributor for fund raising activities of the society.

S.Inderjit Singh General Secretary

An economics graduate and a businessman turned sociopreneur, Inderjit Singh has been a part of the society since its inception and has played a critical role in the journey of the society. Because of his passion towards philanthropy, he has made an indelible social impact, which makes him a part of many other organisations working for social causes. His role towards the society includes, looking after the administration of the society and accounting work. He acts as a felicitator with schools and government departments. His responsibility also includes adherence to government norms in regular operations of the society. He is a passionate traveler, very keen on exploring new places.

Sh.Satya Pal Anand Treasurer

Retired as a senior manager from Punjab & Sind Bank Sh. Satya Pal ji is also one of the founder members of the society. His vast experience in the financial sector enabled him to perform the duties of the treasurer of the society since its inception. As one of the senior members he is a key part of the management team of the society.

S. Gurbax Singh Dang Secretory

S. Gurbax Singh is Masters in Chemical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, and has an experience of over 36 years in the R&D sector Council For Scientific & Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Petroleum during which he won many accolades and awards. After his retirement he has been acting as a visiting faculty and is associated with many universities and institutes. He joined Gursikh Education Society as a member in 2014 and later was elected as the Secretary.

Mrs Jasbir Kaur Project Coordinator

Mrs Jasbir Kaur is a graduate from Lucknow University and has done PGDBM (HR) from Symbiosis, Pune. She has a vast experience in guiding Students in foreign education. She joined GES in 2010 and since then she has become important part of the society. She has left many offers and has dedicated her life for serving the society. She is a Creative thinker, hardworking and dedicated person . She is also doing career Counselling for the students of Dehradun .

S. Gurvinder Pal Singh Sethi Member

A very renowned and respected name in the field of tour and travel business of Dehradun. Beside being a successful businessman, he has also been actively performing the duty of General Secretary at Gurdwara Karanpur for years. He has been a committee member of Gursikh Education Society,since its inception. He is a very well known philanthropist of Dehradun.   

S. Manpreet Singh Member

Manpreet Singh has an experience of more than 25 years in the pharma industry. Prior to entry into his own venture, he worked with some of the top pharma giants like Cipla and Emcure. He has worked at management level with vast experience in marketing and management. In 2000 he came to his home town in Dehradun and started his own company with the name Zegchem. He has been associated with GES since its inception, with a vision of bridging the gap or disparity in the society through various initiatives on education.

S.Balbir Singh Member

Balbir Singh has been associated with the Society Since July 2019. A post graduate in Commerce has over 30 years of experience in the area of accounting and management of NGO’s. He has been associated with many NGO’s working in the field of Education. His expertise in adherence to government norms for accounting and other mandatory requirements has helped the society. Being a religious person he blends spiritualism with professionalism to achieve the desired goals of the society. His religious duties include managing the Gurdwara at Rajpur, Dehradun.

Dr. Tanu Anand Member

Dr Tanu Anand holds a Bachelors degree in Dental surgery. She has been practicing dentistry since 20 years in Dehradun. As dedicated as she is to her profession, she also has an aim to reach out to society for welfare and upliftment of the underprivileged. She was appointed as a committee member in Feb 2024.

 

Since its inception the society has relied on individual sponsors /donors for funds. Every penny received as donations is valuable, which adds responsibility on the part of the society to use the amount wisely. Keeping this in mind the President of the society made a rule that all payments are to be made by cheques only and no cash is to be withdrawn. Further transparent path of accounting is to be followed, the account statement should give detail of each rupee spent. The administrative expenses are less than 10% of total expenses of the society.

The accounts are audited by a Chartered accountant every year and all government regulations are adhered.

Also care is taken to keep the admin expenses as low as 10-15% of total receipts. The key facts and figures of last 5 years are mentioned in graphs and chart below.
