Satsriakal Ji!
“Challenges Make You Stronger” is not just a quote; it's a fact that epitomizes my life journey.
About 13 years ago, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, a non-curable disease that can only be treated with a healthy lifestyle and Insulin management. Looking at the big picture, I had two options at hand. First was to live my life in the pity of others or second, to conquer this obstacle by achieving something concrete and not just succumbing to unfavourable conditions. While I prepared myself for this, another big challenge was headed my way.
A few years later, my father, who had been suffering from chronic kidney disease for 8 years, was advised complete bed rest by the doctors for the next 1 year and was eventually moved to dialysis treatment. My family was already dealing with many financial problems as he was the only bread-earner, and then this. It was at this time that Guru Sikh Education Society and thecame as a rescue to my life. By the grace of Waheguru, I was able to complete my class 10th, class 12th, BBA and now MBA with the help and support from Guru Sikh Education Society. They not only provided me monetary support but also moral and emotional support along with providing great and life-long learnings of Sikhism including “Naam Japna”, “Kirt Karna” and “VandhChakkna”.
Apart from the support that I received, I started working as a delivery partner for Zomato to meet my personal expenses, earning around INR 500-600 per week, working part-time during night hours and managing CAT preparations and college during the day. It wasn't as easy, but I kept moving, refusing to give up, remembering the name of Waheguru. Now, only a couple of years later, I have completed my MBA from the prestigious IIM Kozhikode, being one of the youngest students of my batch.Post my MBA, I am currently working in one of the world’s renowned companies, Tata Air Indiain Gurgaon.
